Press Release: UCP of South Central PA Rebrands as PennCares℠

The new name, brand and logo reflect its evolution and vision for the future

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(Hanover, PA, October 17, 2017) PennCares, formerly known as UCP South Central, introduced the organization’s new brand, name and logo at a ceremony Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at its offices in Hanover, PA. State and local officials as well as staff and families served by PennCares attended the unveiling of new signage and the open house at the facility.
With over 55 years of service in York, Adams, Franklin and Fulton Counties, the new name comes as PennCares rededicates itself to its longstanding mission of providing expert care to children and adults with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities while moving forward with innovative new programs to help an increasingly diverse population of consumers to live powerful and meaningful lives.
“People often made the assumption from our name that we only serve individuals with cerebral palsy, when in fact we support people with many types of challenges,” says Executive Director Mike Wagner. “We don’t want an outdated perception to limit the people we’re able to reach.  We want to open doors for people with all disabilities at every point in their lives. The rebrand is an exciting opportunity for our growing organization to create a new identity that reflects the full diversity of the people we serve.”
